ford wheel pattern/chevy pattern
Ok, before I knew anything about what I'm doing (not that I know what I'm doing now, but I'm a little better off) I got front spindles with rotors and bearing already on using a chevy bolt pattern. This was before I had any idea what rear end I was going to use.
Long story short, I have a ford 9" rear.
Is this difference in bolt pattern's going to totally mess me up when I get to the point of putting wheels on this thing, or will I be able to find the same wheel and just get rears with a Ford pattern and fronts with a Chevy?

Here's some encouragement...............this won't be the last time you say "WHY DID I DO THAT!!!"
Realisticly it probably doesn't make much difference if you're building a typical hot rod. Meaning, you're going to have different size wheels (width & offset at least) and tires front to rear, so interchange isn't an issue. Most people don't do spares anymore with the advent of radial tires, and space consideration. Even if you do use a spare, there are dual pattern centers on some. Depending on which wheels you go for, many are made with dual patterns.
If it really means anything you can contact the folks you bought the fronts from and ask to do an exchange (probably wouldn't be the first time that's been asked), or have the rears redrilled by a competent machine shop to the Chev pattern.Your Uncle Bob, Senior Geezer Curmudgeon
It's much easier to promise someone a "free" ride on the wagon than to urge them to pull it.
Luck occurs when preparation and opportunity converge.

well, I am going to have to put different ones in the rear, for one thing I want them wider, plus the offset will have to be different.
I just wanted to make sure there wasn't some other issue that would come up.
Thanks
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
