Ok I know what he is talking about... mine is different, it's a track and when you put the trunk up all the way and bring it down about a half an inch it catches on something and stay up and then you lift all the way up again and it goes down. It's old, original and cheezy but it works so I will leave it. I might just put an electrical popper thing even if I have to deal with the pain of wiring it and just clean the rear end up some. If I put my battery in the trunk it will be easier to wire up.
It won't be easier to wire up if you put the batt in the trunk, you have to run the wires to the fuse block which would be under the dash:LOL: that's why I suggested a handel that mounts inside the car and just pulls a cable that opens the latch, I think there like 35.00 or 45.00 but there a nice chrome peice, and you could still shave off the handles and latches on the outside and would be less of a hassle.
