too much interior noise
Well I finally got the 350 rebuilt & installed in Bufford( a 1948 chevy pick up,chopped ,extended doors & caddy fins on a narrowed 94 Chevy trk bed). I have 2 1/2" pipes & Dynomax turbo mufflers. This combo makes the interior too noise to carry on a conversation..........what to do?
1. reduce the tail pipes to 2 1/4"
2. install resonators aft of the mufflers
3. replace w/quiter mufflers( I have no idea what would be quiter)

How well is your floor insulated?
What hangers are you hanging your pipes with? If too solid, the vibration makes it a lot louder.
Do the tailpipes go right out to the back?

The floor insulation is 1/2" thick thru out the cab. The carpet is also 1/2" thick. There is also dynamat thru out the cab.
The hangers were installed at the muffler shop & include a 2" rubber hanger.
