I'm sure this question has come up dozens of time; What is the preferred and recommended method of connecting a speedometer to the trans., mechanical or electronic? I am about to purchase a T5 manual trans. to attach to my 59A flathead and the supplier needs to know which type hookup, mech. cable or electronic sender.

Also, does anyone still prefer a generator vs an alternator on their rod?
