I found a 93 Ford Explorer rear that will fit my 39 Chevy but the spring perch is on the bottom an I need them on the top. After I cut them off how do I make sure I get them back on the right angle.

Are you just swapping one for the other, or is there other things going on? Are you lowering, or will the new carrier be in the same position as old one?
The new one will be the same as the old.
OK, Do you know the angle of the tranny at ride height, or measure the angle of the old diff before you take it out? Or if it is out already level the old perches and measure the agle yer diff sits at. Set your new rearend at that angle or the up angle parallel to the tranny down angle in yer garage or work space, then put yer spring perches on the housing and check with a level (I assume yer springs are 90* vertical) if your carier is at the right angle before you level yer perches and TACH weld you should be fine. Then mock up fer fit.
Did I just complicate what I set out to state simply????
You're simply sayin' weld it in straight.Quote:

and that straight could be straight or it could be at an angle
depending on what straight was before.:)
