S-10 Rear Ends

Who can tell us about S-10 or Blazer rear-ends? How much power can they take? I think there is a pretty good selection of gears and posi units, as I believe they are similar to some models of Camaros and Firebirds. The one I was looking at had a nice width, 54 inches between wheel mounting surfaces, had disk brakes and was set up for leaf spring suspension. Looked like a natural for hot rod application. Price on EBay was not out of line either

They will take a moderate amount of power. Big block+big tires=no,no. They will take a decent running small block tho. I use in street rods because of the ease of installation and they are readilly available.
