New to the site & need some help

Hi every body My Name is Bill.I haul antique tractors and trucks from the southwest to the east coast and back for a living. I need some information-I have a 1983 Merc Grand Marquis with low mileage.I also have an 88 ford van they both have 302,s in them .The engine in the 88 van is blown will the 83 Merc engine fit it? If they wont what is the differences? Thanks a bunch Mr Bill

Thanks yupper I don't pull with the Van it is a conversion van for play time.I pull with a 30 ft gooseneck and a crew cab ford dually deisel.

same engine other than the van motor may have a little more torq than the merc. If the van was carbed and the merc was Fuel Injection or vise versa, you would need to swap the induction systems out.

So if I use the 83 long block it will "dress with all the 88 stuff without frankinstiening it?
