I was just given an offer for my 24 dodge roadster project but he only wants the body and especially not the 318 mill thats in her.
What I want to know is there any way to adapt a 1970 plymouth 318 to a 53 plymouth standard 3spd with od? How long did they keep that 3spd tranny, will one of the early cars with a 318 have the adapter that I need?
Id have to be able to stick her together in a weekend since shes my driver, if i had all the parts do you think it could be done on a long weekend?

I also know a good bit about mopar, but I doubt that you will be able to adapt a 70 318 to a 50s tranny. The bell housing is on the tranny is MOST LIKELY different then the bell housing that the 70 318 would mount up to. If so, then the starter wont be able to match up correctly. Why dont you just find a 50s dodge with a 318 and 3 spd tranny to transplant into your 24 roadster? Lemme know how it works out for ya.

I pretty much canned the idea of putting the 318 into my plymouth. The guy who wanted to buy just the body from my 24 dodge roadster decided that he just wouldnt feel right with it being a dodge and a ford.
Anyways, I doubt id be able to tear her apart on friday evening, shoehorn it between my plyms rails and get her all adapted and ready to run by monday morning. Thats the bitch about using it as your daily driver.
