Locks for '35 Chevy 2 dr sdn?
New to street rods - chasing a dream.
I just purchased a 1935 Chevy Tudor Master sedan which has no door or trunk locks. The car is "done" so do not want to mess with body work or paint; however, it would be nice to be able to lock it.
The original locking mechanism is in place in the trunk lid, but the handle was removed when the the trunk was smoothed. (decked?)
The right door handle only has a lock (that does not work). Is that typical on these old cars? Inside the door is a threaded opening that appears to allow a pin to push into the rod that secures the door, thus effectively locking the door from the inside. Whatever threads into this opening is missing. Am I on the right track?
So - how does one retofit some locks? Suggestions appreciated and Thank You in advance.Cheers,
Steve
