New HEI to old distributor
I'm going to install a edelbrock manifold with 3 rochester carbs on my 305 but the HEI distributor I have now is to big and I'll need to go to the old style smaller distributors from the 60 and 70's for the last carb to clear. Since these old distrubutors would break down prematurely because the terminals were to close together that the spark would crossfire inside the cap I was wondering if they make a smaller model HEI that would fit my purpose.
Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Re: New HEI to old distributor
MSD HEI dist. = PN 8474 or PN 8360 - Chevy V-8. It's about the same size as the older point dist. maybe even a little smaller.Originally posted by chevy 37

I've had good luck with Mallory's Unilite distributors on the Tri-powers I've set up. They seem to work well on even moderatly modified engines with just a good quality coil and no MSD type boxes.

I, too, check everyday and sometimes it's up and sometimes it's not. I also wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and be safe.
