I was wondering what manual tranny would work for a 318 or 331. I am looking for one that I can keep the 3 in a tree on the car but go with a "newer" engine for my 49 ply.
Thanks

Joker: CYM
Hey Joker, how's the project coming along?? It would seem that most any 3 speed that will fit the motor combo you choose could have your linkage adapted to fit it. May take a bit of engineering. I would still be glad to give ya back the $100.00 ya paid for it and just come get the car???? Tee Hee Hee
Well Dave, all together it costed $400 to buy it and tow it home as I had to rent a Uhaul to get it. But I am currently hand sanding the body piece by piece and primering it. Just finished the hood only took 2 sundays to get everything cleaned and primered, about 6 hours worth of work. Next I will be taking the trunk lid off and doing that then to the doors. Leaving the main body for last.
Just figured as I am going to pull it off the frame soon I might start figuring out a driveline so I only have to take the body off once.
Castle what exactly does CYM mean?
See your mail (CYM).
I sent you a link to a web site that has some tranny experts to help you with your task.
I've only had the auto 727/904s so I wasn't sure.
sorry CastleI didn't see it until now, thanks for the link.
Don't know where it went, just used your email button below the post.
http://www.moparstyle.net
Is a good site for all things Mopar. These guys know VIN codes down to nuts and bolts.
I'm in your era for vehicles, so I like to use this site for Hotrod stuff (body, etc) and mechanical things I go to the other.
:)
thanks Castle, sorry I saw it after I posted, I edited the post but you must have read it before I edited it. Thanks again
