can anyone recommend a chrome shop?
Thank you
I've used Dan's Polishing and Chrome in Adamsville, TN. They did a good job and the price was reasonable, for chrome. Of course chrome is never really cheap. They use the triple chrome process with copper, nickle and chrome. I do have to add that I had parts chromed for my Healey project and that car is not on the road yet, so I can't say how it will hold up.
I delivered the parts since some of them would have been hard to replace if they had been lost in shipping. It's a 7 hour drive, but it was worth it. Dan gave me a price for each part and didn't charge any extra, even though he had to run one heavily pitted part in the copper 5 times to get it filled.
Like Mike says, there are a lot of stories about one-of-a-kind parts being lost in transit, or the new chrome destroyed on the return trip. Just a quick Google "chrome shops near...." shows a bunch in easy driving distance of you in Hamilton. I'd check with folks around your area to see if one stands out for what you want in finish, as many shops offer three or more levels from driver to premium to show, and the cost goes up accordingly.
thanks guys!
