Happy New Year everybody ! New year brings the need for Bed Wood for my 40 Ford p/u. I see a lot of dealers/retailers of wood, I'm looking for input as to who has used what and opinions of the wood/kit etc ? Thanks gordy

Some where I saw that someone used TREX lumber... well "almost lumber".
I thought it looked pretty good. Other folks don't like it. but it gives you another choice.
I've done oak with Spar Varnish. While it looks good at first, it just didn't last to long.
Someone else did poly urethane and it flaked off after a couple years. kinda like powder coating imho..
LOL
I used the trex and it does look nice but I found that it scratches very easily. So while it would be very durable it would get scratched up if you used it like a truck.

You can see it here.
Navy, V8nutz is right, the TREX or other composites are going to get scratched up some, but I'd venture that any wood you use is going to get scratched up worse if you use your truck as a truck.
I have Cherry that has been air dried I am looking at using on my 32 project

As long as it has taken me to get to this point I should have cut some lumber and it surly would be dry after 7 years lol.
That Cherry going to look nice .
I have some Amish made red oak for mine, I can't comment on it yet as it has not made it on the truck yet, also it came with the new bed.
