Today I took a look inside an original 1965 Fender Pro Reverb amp that’s been untouched since bought, stored away. The original owner even kept the original purchase receipt and passed it on to the present owner. New owner states it just doesn’t sound right, has a lot of noise and the vibrato doesn’t work. So I got a peek into a time capsule from 1965.
Dried out electrolytic capacitors I expected to find. What I wasn't expecting to find was a wire completely disconnected from the board due to a cold solder joint, another wire barely connected with a cold solder joint and a resistor not connected at one end (again a cold solder joint), at least not in 1965.

PLEASE DO NOT FOOL AROUND IN TUBE AMPS (OR ANY ELECTRONICS/ELECTRICAL) WITHOUT PROPER KNOWLEDGE/TRAINING!Last edited by 36 sedan; 10-18-2020 at 08:11 AM.
