B-Rod,
Welcome, and congrats on the Model A. What do you mean by "firewall insert". Depending on your power train, you're likely going to be cutting into the firewall for clearance, so finding an aftermarket piece that fits your specific needs may be tough. If you're looking at a replacement, one way is to use polished checker plate cut to fit, or sheet aluminum/stainless polished to a luster and clear coated. What's your plan for the car?
It's more a make your own thing. I did a alum sheet,I polished up,had that for a number of years, butt did get tired of polishing it,to keep it looking as good as I wanted. Got lucky an found some high polished stainless steel an remade it from that<< Man I had a hard time cutting the stainless/trick was to put fine tooth blade at angle<not 90*=that would just take teeth of blade LOL.
Not a Rat but not a Show only. A nice Hot Rod, running s small block Chevy with a 400 auto now, so much to learn. Also interior door, side panels seem to be mostly homemade as well?
I may go custom stainless just easier if Aftermarket had something, my 55 Chevy was easy, tons of stuff aftermarket!
Welcome to the forum and keep us updated on your project. And by the way we love pictures, hint, hint.
Welcome to the site, nice to see you here. Now don't take my comment wrong but many of us call a bolt together car a "belly button"... You know - everybody's got one,:LOL::eek: .... Now if that is what you like? By all means build it the way you want to, it's the old golden rule. The guy that has the gold = makes the rules! :D
Most of us are always trying to make up or do something different. Like I said, build it your way / what ever looks good to you. I just thought I'd offer another opinion. :)
