    Door Glass

    Ok guys here's a question.

In 1946/47 Ford put metal trim all the way around the door glass/windows of p/u's.
Will glass from a 1940 work in place of the metal trimmed glass on a 46 p/u door ?
1940 only had bottom rail on glass no metal on edges.

Navy, all you need is glass channel to fit the raw glass on the sides and top of your '46 door, seems to me. You might have to use a shim on one or both sides of the glass channel to fit the gap in your door, but I would think it'll work just fine, but I've not done it. Maybe Uncle Bob?

Roger thanks for the reply. I have the glass channels but, Because I made the door 3/8" taller on the drivers side to fit the cab( 2 sets of doors turned out to be only fix ) I also would have to extend the channels as well. My biggest concern is how the metal channel rides up and down in the channel. I'm thinking glass would just be so much easier and smoother riding and installing. Also 40"s didn't have side/top channels. The closer I get to the end of this project the more I fine how many years of this and that are in/on this truck. Good grief

How about something like this universal channel that Speedway sells? https://www.speedwaymotors.com/Glass...nel,47812.html
