    Question Decked?? What does it mean?

     



    Hi, I'm new here and finding LOTS of good info on this forum! I have a question, what does it mean when the engine has been "decked"? The serial number on my 287 (tab in front of Cyl #2) is blank. Does it mean it has been "shaved" or "decked"? And what is the purpose for doing that?
