you have a 350 4 bolt main 2 pc. rear seal. so its an older 350 maybe the flex plate is from a newer engine??? Don't know what you mean by BUILT ENGINE???
I was told it was built and not sure how to tell the casting numbers show 86 and up from what I found online not sure how to tell on the rear seal as I'm trying not to open the motor the flex plate that came off the motor has a bigger center hole than a 86 flexplate
Anything I can try to identify what build? Also how should I get the right flex plate ?
Here is a vid with some general SBC info and it shows the differences on the 2 different rear main seals.

There is no real way to tell what build your engine got without checking compression, then pulling it apart IMO. Everyone always says they have a "Built" engine. It is just a term and usually means the opposite of what people think.
The flex plates are different between the 2 cranks and that's why your flex plate doesn't work.
Watch that vid and you'll see more clearly.
