anyone have pictures of how the hood springs are installed?
I bought the springs and hinge set from bob drake, but no instructions.
my hood only has a hinge on one side, I was able to install the hinges based on how the existing one was installed, but I have no clue how these spring bars are supposed to attach.

I had to do one on mine a while ago. If I remember correctly, I placed the spring over the rear ear of the hinge, then used a t bar that had a hook on it to pull the spring and I slid the spring over the front bolt/anchor. Mine are off now and torn apart so I can't run out there and look at it either. :LOL:
I've also seen where guys would take the spring, bend it with your hands and stick washers in between the springs and repete the process on both sides until you get the length you need to install the spring. Then remove the washers.

The lower part of the spring arm has 2 bolts and that part attaches to the fire wall pinch weld area. The single bolt hole arm goes to the hood and needs a shouldered bolt if I remember correctly. I'll see if I have a pic of my holes in my fire wall area for you.
You can see the tape on the side of my fire wall. Those are the 2 holes the hood spring hing assy bolt to. Sorry my pics aren't the best. I don't know if I have pics of those by them selves. The bottom pic you can just see the holes by the tape with do not weld on it.
no holes like that in my fire wall, there is an "L" bracket welded to the hood on the same side as the one hinge was, on the other side it appears it was cut or grinded off..
Without making new holes I don't think these spring arms will work. I got the hinge in on the other side, so at least the hood has stability now, and it no longer rattles when driving, all the holes and such for the hinge were there, I think either he forgot to put it back on or it got damaged because there is paint etching around where it was installed at one point.
based on what I am seeing, maybe I will take a trip to Napa and see if I can find a hood strut strong enough to work on one side only, but I may be reduced to welding an "L" onto the other side where it looks like it was grinded off.
