Need information installing wing window glass in channel

I am building a 37 Cadillac street rod for my neighbor and friend. I have painted the car and am letting him install the rear quarter glass and wing windows. I bought most of the rubber from Steele Rubber. They sent a roll of material that is supposed to be cut to length and glued in the channel before installing/pressing in the glass. I think they called it mohair.
Is there something better to use on installing the wing window glass in the channel? I thought about using some sort of rubberized caulking or RTV. Problem is with some of the sealers it can cause rust. I want to be able to remove the windows should they ever get damaged.

Glass setting tape if I remember correctly, the easy way is take them to your local glass shop and have them put them in, you won't be able to buy the tape and experiment with it for what they charge (at least around here) as they do it everyday and you would probably have to buy a full roll anyway and it come in different thickness's depending on your frames width and glass thickness, but if you want to try it heres a link to a tip http://www.hotrodhotline.com/md/html..._the_glass.php

If it's the black "rubberlike" weatherstripping, then 3M weatherstrip adhesive has always worked best for me.

Oops.. You weren't talking about windows, post retracted.

I had trouble finding the original tape for this SOO got a tube of the rubber they use for windshield install on new cars WORKS great. put it in chanel and press in glass. clean up with razor scraper

That is what I was thinking of, but if it ever got broke it would be a bear to get the glass out of the frame. My friend took the glass and frame to a local shop and they were going to install it for $24 each. They called him in about 45 minutes and told him they could not do it. They told him federal law prohibits them from installing regular glass in the car. It is not safety glass, so he purchased 8' of the rubber tape and brought it home. It was only $6. They told him they did not use any kind of sealer or adhesive on them. I guess I will do it in a couple of days. Thanks for everyone's suggestions.
