Anyone had any problems with electrolysis using SS headers with copper exhaust gaskets on aluminum heads. I know Before I retired I replaced a lot of steel/ aluminum flanges with composite couplings due to electrolysis. Thanks for feed back

I don't think its as much of a problem as iron block, alum water pump and then alum rad with electric fan grounded to rad but isolated from chassis with rubber cushion mounts and a poorly grounded elctrick system. Every since the oem went to alum pumps/front covers I've seen lots of erosion of the alum where it mates with block coolant holes----maybe needs some marine thingies?
I guess I should have been a little more clear on the above post. The flanges were on pipe, not exhaust flanges. They originally years ago used teflon sleeves over the bolts and teflon washers to connect the flanges together. A forged steel to aluminum flange. But over time corrosion ate all the way through the pipes.
Thanks Jerry, I was posting the same time you were. I like the idea of copper exhaust gaskets but was curious if anyone has run into problems due to corrosion.
