292 chev -rebuilt - an the blower will be underdriven. it came off a 179 holden 6cyl.
thoughts - bearing in mind i'm 17yrs old an this will be my first blowen motor!

Front bearing are lubed from the front oil in the case they will last dang near forever (if the have gear oil), the rears are prelubed, if your too worried pull off the back cover and get a little grease in the bearing somehow, they generally are unshielded, I am use to 6-71's but most roots are very similar.
thanks for that. waiting to talk to my machining man after the holidays about whether its worth doing anything to the head before I bolt it on or if the cost may be more then what its worth to me. i'm ownly looking for wow factor!
a good check for belt tension ----a quarter turn /twist mid way straight section when its warm

I'd leave the head alone, because a blower will cover a multitude of sins. Pay attention to the squish (0.035" to 0.045") so the motor won't detonate on pump gas and use a mild flat tappet cam like the Crane 203901 with 99277-12 lifters and 99838-12 valve springs. I'd pulley it for 6-7 psi and have fun with it.
Pay attention to this tutorial to make the flat tappet cam live a long, healthy life.....

I am aiming for 3-4% boost and the engine was originally built to mild specs and 91 gas with no blower or turbo being thought about at the time!!. I will check on cam specs and squish when the machinst reopens. thanks for the interest and advice.

Where'd the blower go? I do like "Stovebolts", and this one looks good, but that blower for it really gets my ticker tickin'.

going too run it in on this setup ! also I have to build my own manifold to mount the blower so that gives me more time. I can mount the engine/trans and do a lot with it setup like this.
