    vht, here's a pic of that plastic fitting:

    It has a 1/4" hole in it, and I use a 3/8" i.d. hose. This fitting is starting to wear from the sand running thru it, I'll modify a brass fuel line fitting to replace it.

    Sand leaking out is not a problem, the weight of the media keeps it in place.
