Input on Ford Racing clutches

I have a Superformance A/C cobra with a 351w/394/525 H.P. engine and I need your expert opinion on a Ford racing clutch to replace a
centerforce DF clutch that split and separated at the pressure
plate mounting flange.
The Shop wants to put in the Ford racing clutch and I need to know if it will hold up with the listed specs.

First, welcome aboard.. If that clutch came apart like I think it did, I think I'd be checking for proper alignment of the input shaft and the clutch. Of course you don't say what kind of service the previous disc saw.. was it drag raced / road raced / just a cruiser? When they install a new clutch kit, don't forget the input shaft bearing/bushing.

Here's the page for Ford Racing clutches, Ford Racing Performance Parts 2014 it doesn't give any real load ratings but if used in "normal" applications I don't believe you should break it easily.

Welcome to CHR. You don't mention what tranny you're running, but I'll echo Mike in that one of the most important setup steps on my TREMEC bellhousing was putting a dial indicator on the flywheel, measuring the runout of the alignment hole for the tranny face and using offset alignment dowels to bring it into tolerance. My first bell housing was out of round so much that the tranny alignment flange would not fit, and TREMEC replaced the bellhousing.

As for the clutch, been running 4 and 5 speeds behind Ford engines for many moons, I've always had the best luck with McCleod clutches behind them! Their Tech guys are superb, really know their stuff and well do an excellent job helping with the right parts applications!!!!!!

My next Ford project will be the a Boss 351W block with Cleveland heads, hooked up by a McCleod dual disc on an aluminum flywheel..... Here's a link, worth taking a look at their offerings, quality stuff!
