Pat glad you stopped by, I actually see it the same way. MSD does state the wider a gap puts a bigger load on the ignition.
I used to run MSD products on my hot rods. I only ever had issues with 6AL's when they where coming out. Upgraded to a 7AL and loved it. Then got into plug less engines and haven't messed with them for years. Now I'm looking at one of their systems that has boost reference in it.
after my glowing review my mustang is sitting outside since saturday morn ... wont start .. no fire ... HA!! dont know why yet ,,
just a bad connection .. all is good ...
A little update:
I recently learned that my MSD ignition box may have an impedance conflict with my Pertronix coil, which could lead to the coil failing. Confirming this with the MSD tech, I purchased a new MSD matching coil. After changing the coil, I noticed my old coil was already showing signs of failure!
Thanks to a friends heads up I avoided the roadside dance! Thought others might appreciate this.
