Thread: Well Got the ol 70 buick Riviera running.

I finally went to work on the ol 1970 Buick.
Got the tank back in with the new fuel pump
and ran all new fuel line.
The car still would not start so I pulled the carb off
and tore into that. It was what I thought it would be.
I actually had to pull the needle pin for the float out
with needle nose pliers because I could not get it with
my fingers, yes it was that stuck. Gave every thing a
good cleaning and put it back together. Purrs lick a kitten
now, but the fuel gauge is reading full. So I'll have to pull
the fuel pump again and install a new float I guess.
Oh when I was putting the tank back in I noticed a build
up of something on the drivers side rear Brake back plate.
Not sure if it's old brake fluid or rear end fluid.
And no the car does not have any brakes and the rear brake reservoir
was dry. But I ain't jumping to conclusions before I
check the fluid in the rear end. So I will replace all the brakes
and check the rear end fluid. Then it's off to the paint and body shop then interior shop. I wonder if they will do new window seals at the interior shop or if I will have to do them??? I need to replace all the seals in the windows doors and truck then re chrome the bumpers and bottom molding. Oh I also need to pull the skirts and weld in some new sheet metal in so the body shop don't rack me over the coals on fixing those.
That's the only rust I could find on the whole car that was more then surface rust, looks very clean underneath, no rust except the exhaust. Oh needs new exhaust to that's pretty much gone. I drove it to the back of my property to get it out of the drive and it seems to run good. I can't wait to do the brakes and take it for a real drive with that 455 motor.

I forgot I am the second owner and the car only has 65,350 miles on it.
