I need to remove these ball joints from my Mustang II front end. They are welded in 2 spots, not enough to hold them by the weld itself. . My question is are they screwed in or are they pressed in ?

I would take a thin cut off wheel and buzz the welds thru. Then you can remove the top portion and see what you have.
Press in joints, but they must not have fit very well if they needed the welds.
I don't like the looks of that lashup. that type of joint is supposed to be a tight press fit, and if tack welding is needed to make it stay, the socket is probably worn out or otherwise damaged or compromised, and the entire control arm should be replaced. This is no place for jury rigging.
Well here's the scoop on the ball joints. They screw in. the welds where there just to keep them from unscrewing. Thanks for the inputs.
Sorry I missed the wrench flats in your pic. Looked @ Mustang II ball joints in the Napa catalog and just assumed. Regardless it must be using Mopar ball joints ?
I noted the flats, but it never occurred to me that there might be a screw in ball joint; that might explain the welds, huh? I've not messed with very many MoPar critters, and when I did, it was mostly just to get them running or moving enough to get them somewhere else besides my driveway.
Mopar Joints ? I don't know but it does not surprise me. The front calibers are GM. I don't know why they call this a Mustang front end .

Somewhere, put away in a box, I have a very long box end wrench that I made to install and remove these screw-in Chrysler joints.
