Is it still 6V or have you converted to 12V? I'd consider buying a generic wiring kit from any one of the big suppliers like Haywire, American Autowire, EZ Wire, others and start ripping out the old and starting from scratch. The other approach is to re-do it wire by wire, replacing old with new one at a time but you still don't have an up to date fuse block and organized approach with the one-at-a-time approach.
X's two... Ive had really good luck with the EZ wire kits with outstanding phone tech service. Over the years I've probably installed over a dozen of these kits with good success. If its all original a basic kit will be just fine for you. If you want to add circuits for upgrades just purchase a larger kit. Color coded and labeled wires are the way to go in my opinion.
