What do I want to do with this 63 FALCON?

If it was me,I would be soooooo tempted to find a pair of spare front fenders and graft the wheel openings into the rear fenders, then throw a straight axle under it and an old FE on top of that.

It would be fun for a while, then I'd probably wish I'd done something like a Windsor and 5 speed with rack an pinion.

I would look for a 351W for it, but a 302 in the hand, as the saying goes.....

That falcon you have has a lot of life left in it. Just want to show you what I did with my 61. It has a strong 302, T-10, straight axle, fenderwell headers, etc. The car was very dangerous because of the unibody construction. It would light the tires at a moments notice (even with traction bars), and would want to turn due to the flexing of the body. I solved this by putting in a 4-bar coil over rear which TCI sells and then building a very strong bolt on sub frame which is shown in the pictures. This solved all the problems and now the car is a joy to drive and hooks like crazy. I just wanted to tell you what worked for me.

Very nice indeed! I have already installed the cross member for the Mustang 2 steering conversion so the straight axle is not in the cards but it sure looks nice with that stance! Im not going to show her a pic of your ride or you would have an exact duplicate running around here In So Cal. I think that sub frame would be the way to go. Im sure I will be fabbing up something like that before its all over. Thanks again for the links... Very nice car.

I have access to a couple of good running Fox Bodied 5.0's that I was going to use. Complete cars so I think that will be the way to go for me. I build seats so that is taken care of. Maybe just pull out the spool for now and see how that works. being its already narrowed. I did just pick up a nice set of 16" X 10" original Cragar mags with new set of dot Hoosier's cheaters. I didn't even know they ever built 16" cragar mags back in the day... And yes I know these dot's are not street legal, but why not? :LOL: why dot approve something that is not street worthy?

Oh Jerry, in Ca. anything 76 and older is smog exempt, or is it pure 76? anyway we are fine shape with the 63. Thanks for the replys. Hummm, now you guys have me really thinking.
