i was hoping to get some advice..i have a 95 tahoe with a tbi 350...started off with the idle shooting up and down where is was pushing the truck at a stop...i checked for vaccum leaks found none...i changed the tps and fixed the up and down issue but now the truck idles at 1500 rpm's...i took out the iac sencor and cleaned it up but no difference...disconnected the battery in hopes of resetting it but same situation...any help would be appreciated
Welcome to CHR!! Have you checked for OBDII Codes?
Even though you've cleaned it, the IAC may be shot - they're about 40-50 bucks and may be worth a try. Also consider the coolant temperature sensor (CTS) as if they stick the computer thinks the engine is still cold. Does the vehicle seem to run rich? If so, I'd look to replace the CTS (+/- $15.00).
Have someone run a code check even if there is no check engine light on. Some auto parts stores will do it for you. (Auto Zone is one)
The flimsy gasket under the t.b.i. are known for causing that problem
IIRC the tps has a slotted mounting and you set it with an ohm meter?? anyway, you probably have it on where its keeping the throttle blade from closing---
