Hi guys,
Looking for suggestions for cleaning my Edelbrock Performer intake manifold. It's on the car. Starting to notice a few stains and want to make it look like new or better.
Thanks
Pat

Pat, usually brake cleaning fluid (aerosol can in any parts place) works great. It evaporates quickly, especially if the engine is still warm, so have some very absorbant towels (paper or cloth) at the ready. When you clean the "dirty" spot, you'll find out how dirty the rest of the manifold that looked okay is. If you have some chemical resistant gloves wear them, or precoat your hands with moisturizer or petroleum jelly and then treat them again after the job's done.
Super clean is what we use at the shop. Watch out it's potent stuff and rinse it off well.
I personall find that a light coat of El-Cheapo oven cleaner works really well. Just be sure to rine and dry it well.
Let me try that again. I personally find that a light coat of El-Cheapo oven cleaner works really well. Just be sure to rinse and dry it well. Sorry guys, but that last posts grammar was horrible.

aaaauuuu.....it wern't so bad.:HMMM: :HMMM: :HMMM:
Don't use oven cleaner................
Try hubcap or mag wheel cleaner............works good.
I got this Cleansafe Monitor Cleaner, I have never used it for engine parts but, it really cleans the dirt off keyboards, TV's and computer monitors, it contains no amonia oil or wax so, it shouldent damage the surface. It foams when it comes out of the can. You can pick it up at WAL*MART, if it is not good for the intake, it's good for the TV's and monitors cause, they shine after it's applied and wiped off, seems like it would make car windows shine really good too.
