Any reason that the tranny cover, the one on the floor shouldn't be welded into place vice screws ? Last part for my 40 Ford p/u floor boards.
I thinking all welded in and no leaking seams and more strength.
What say you ?

There is no reason i see that you can't weld it in. But on the ones i've done i made them so they could be bolted or screwed down for working around the trans while putting it together and for later on down the road if it needs to be removed for any reason.. i used a good seam sealer all around the edges to seal it and it can be cut away if you need to open it up. Also the two here use a floor shift which makes it a little easier to hook all that up....
