what are you guys using for door seals

With the doors installed on my 53 chevy pickup, It doesnt seem like the windlace weatherstriping is going to do alot of good in some places. There doesn't seem like there is any good way to get things to seal up nice and tight. I hope that there is a good after market solution for this .We live about 2 1/2 miles down a gravel road so I am paying special attention to seals and stuff to keep the dust out of the cab. Just like to get this figured out before I put any paint down. Thanks for any input, Seth.

Have you checked out Steele Products yet? They do A LOT of seals & weatherstripping for GM, and others..

Just checked em out but can't find anything different from what I have, rats.

You need Door Seals(rubber) that is what seals your door.

The window lace is a waste as far as I am concerned.
BUT if you want it here ya go. but it's not covered in cloth like some are..

Great, I was hoping the windlace didnt do much. I have new seals and windlace already so I just hope the door seal will be good. I guess I can get thicker door seals if need be. Seth

maybe u need to adjust the door & personally Steele make the best rubber out there all the rest is 2nd best...joe

Also here is a tech tip on adjusting them & remember it might bother the door & latch out of adjustment. Both will cause the door NOT to close correctly...joe

Thanks for the door tech tip, I put it on my favorites. I think I have the doors fitting the best that they can fit, I spent better than a month of Saturdays getting all the gaps square and the tops and bottoms to fit the best they could. I don't know if they just didn't care that much about fit back then or if I was being overly anal but it sure did suck. For the door latches I was thinking about biting the bullet and getting Altman bear claw latches and being done with it. I live 2 1/2 miles down a gravel and I think 1 mile of washboards along the way is normal so I want the doors latched nice and solid. I remember as a kid with my old 52 chevy the doors would like to fly open from time to time.

I have a 35 Chevy P/U that has a lot of wind dust and water seal isuse. Does anyone out there have any good tips on install proper weather striping in the doors of a 35 Chevy. I have tried several universal strips but I still have a lot of wind noise & water inside at 60 mph. Someone must have had the same problem with 1935 cars & trucks.
Any ideas?

A tip, it is near impossible to install the rubber seals on an AD truck with the doors on the cab. I take the doors off, leaving the hinge mounted to the cab. Before you remove any thing, drill an eight inch hple through the inner side of the door, and into the hinge. Then remove the door. When reinstalling it, insert a 1/8" drill bit shank into each hole before tightening the hinges. It works for me.

Were you watching me last week? I thought I was a genius when I did the drill bit trick but turns out I'm not the only one. It saves a ton of messing around.
