Does anyone have the length of a 671 supercharger to suit a SBC
Chasing the length from the back of the inlet manifold to the front of the pulley.
Want to take the Weiand 177 blower off and change it for a 671 but want to make sure it wont hit anything

Hi, I don't have a answer for you about the 6-71 but would like to know the same dimension you have for the 177. I would like to put one on my 40 but am a bit cramped between the radiator and pulleys. Does your 177 run a v belt drive or a ribbed belt drive? Thanks for your time. Ray
The center section of 6-71 is 15", add the front and rear covers about 17", i don't have a fully assembled one.
the 6-71 and 177 intake are different, the 6-71 won't mate.
Just look at your front dampner pulley---the 6:71 can be driven with a 2 inch belt if space is limited and adding the 2 inches to your dampner measurement would be the distance your looking for----
An 8:71 is about 3/4 inch longer---3/8 to the front and 3/8 to the rear--

will unpack the blower on the weekend and measure it.
The dimensions on the Holley site are very good for the 177 blower but for some reason there not great with the 671.
Make sure you get the blower for the short water pump for more clearance.
I'd be interested in knowing why you want to change.
I had the 177 blower on a mild 350 chev but I am building a better 383 chev now with a dart block ,blower pistons ,full roller cam and lifters and rockers.
I have a forged crank and good rods etc etc.I want to run more boost with the new engine but I believe the smaller blower ( 177 ) will heat the engine up due to the speed to provide the boost and I don't want the engine overheating
Was your 177 for a short water pump? If so, I might be interested...
Yes it was a short water pump but I live in Perth Western Australia
The length is 665mm from the back of the passenger side of the manifold to the front of the drive pulley ( Passenger side australian )Quote:
