Need Help:::47 Chevy Business Coupe Front End
I'm new to Street Rodding and traded for a 47 Chevy...It has the original front end and I need some help on it. I'm on a very tight budget and want to know what can be done to the stock front end to get rid of the floating bounce I get when I hit bumps. Is there anyway to add shocks to the front end? I was told it had a hydraulic system..can it be rebuilt or are there parts out there to replace any of this....I know I could change out the front end and probably will in the future, but wanted to do something now less expensive so I can enjoy the car now....Any help?

Unfortunately 65 year old technology is 65 year old technology; meaning if it's all 1947 vintage it will probably ride like a 1947. For basic cheap improvements just make sure the front end is tight and have quality shocks. You said "add" shocks; it doesnt have any on it now?

The 47 Chev had shocks built into the upper control arms, not separate tubular shocks. I believe they can be rebuilt, but I have no idea who does it now. My experience with a 48 was 50+ years ago.

Fill them with fluid, they might work OK.
