Have you checked with .............Chevs of the 40's.............they have many aftermarket steel parts for those years chevs.
Thanks for your response, but yeah, I checked them out. They only have fiberglass fenders (as all of the other "manufacturers") and I'm wanting to replace my 'glass fenders with steel so I can contour them into the body and not have to worry about cracking at the fender/body interface.
Original steel fenders are virtually impossible to find from my experience so far. I've spent at least a few hours on the internet calling all over the country and checking out every lead. I might have located a pair but I'm not sure of their condition. I hope I can use them because if I can't I'm not sure I'll ever find a set of original steel rear fenders. Thanks again though.

Contact! Found some original rear fenders for a '40 Chevy sedan in my own home town, of all places! However, I'll still be searching for both front and rear spares in case anyone has any leads. Thanks again for your help.

Tom..........just by chance ,when I was on Ebay, I typed in 1940 Chevrolet fenders..........found many there......check it out.
Yeah, I did the same this morning, Sunset. Found several listings for different mixes of fenders. I thought about saying something, but I figured eBay would have been one of the first places a guy looked, but maybe not.....Quote:
