Ok, this is towards the design of proposal: tot rod

The rear end had a couple brackets on it, looked like it had been set up for a four link.

It occurs to me that most rear suspension designs place the travel arc through the axle, leaving the u joints to travel an arc forward of the axle.

Would there be any benefit in designing the brackets ( forward ) to align the travel of the axle arc with the u joint?

I hope I have explained it adequately
