I pulled the axles from a 9" to have a looksee at the seals, when i slid them back in and tightened everything the axles just freewheel like they aren't engaging in anything.
the rear has an open carrier, non posi, unknown mileage - i assume a lot.
I didn't swap the axles.
I can spin each axle while manual trasmission is in gear.
With tranny out of gear i can rotate pinion while holding each axle.
I look inside from axle tube and all looks ok.
When i pulled the axles they just came out without strain and i didn't hear anything drop out of place inside the housing.
What could be wrong with the carrier to cause this?
