		Coolant Preferences
While reading Dave's account of his sludge problem I started wondering what type coolant others preferred in their engines. For example, I have an all aluminum LS1 and an aluminum PRC radiator for my project. I know Dex-Cool is the GM recommended coolant for my engine but what are the pros/cons for using this or others?

I don't know about Dex-cool, don't play with GM's. But, I buy Peak because of the pretty Spokes"PERSON"

The first thing I run through a fresh engine, or one that's been on the road for awhile is a good cleaner through the system! I too run the correct Danica product in the system after I've thoroughly cleaned and flushed the system. Hate getting all my new goodies cruddy right off!!!!

Well we have seen so many problems with Dexcool that I won't use it and prefer to get it out A.S.A.P. I've become partial to the GO-5 that Ford & Chrysler use for anything aluminum,or The Asian blend for Toyotas and such.
Only problem I've seen with the GO-5 is it's clear and makes it a little hard to find leaks while the Asian blend has an orange tint.

Many of the "high mileage" coolants on the market will create electrolysis over time. Mainly due to the different types of metals the mix must flow over and around.
I have seen many radiators that have gotten eaten from the inside out due to electrolysis. I have always recommended changing the coolant every 2-3 yrs.
I have been using Evans coolant even before I was working for them. It has no water in it and is a lifetime coolant. I just put it in my 2011 Dakota and will be putting it in my 50 Ply wagon.
