I'm using a 100 amp GM CS130 alternator in a 1937 Dodge pickup. The truck has an electric cooling fan, A/C and 1000 watt amp, plus all the basic accessories will a 100 amp alternator be enough?
What about protection, will a 50amp Maxi fuse will be adequate?

Just in case your sound system might run your battery low---why not put in an isolated battery just for starting and normal driving and run your sound off the other one?
I was going to say what Jerry said - so instead I'll just say "I concur with Jerry!!"
Look over the fuse panel, add the sizes up, see if it is more then 100 amp that will give you an idea.
"What about protection, will a 50amp Maxi fuse will be adequate?" if the electrical system has the ability to draw a load greater then 50 amps I would rethink that.
The 100amp is fine, but with that much audio the suggestion of isolating it from your "normal" battery is a great idea. Regarding your 50a maxi fuse, on mine (EZ Wire) several of the big draws are wired direct from the battery ahead of the fuse block and have their own protection - ECU/Ignition, electric fan, VA hvac, etc which reduces the draw through the maxi.
If you don't have one, a Cap would be beneficial. It won't take the place of a battery, but will help when the bass hits hard.
Just don't try to start it with the stereo on, lights on, electric window going and dome lights on! Just kidding, 100 should be fine! That's what I'm running in my truck.
