1955 Thunderbird Questions
Hello everyone brand new to the forums but hopefully you can help me out. I have a 1955 Thunderbird with a 292 and the Ford-O-Matic. I bought the car as it sits which is Engine out, Transmission out, and engine half assembled. I am having issues trying to find information of how to get this car back together to. Also I should admit this is my first automatic transmission experience or any transmission experience for that matter
I have the following questions
1) I need information to install and adjust the rockers
2) where can I find the torque on the converter to flexplate bolts
3) I assume the starter goes in the big hole on the left
4) where can I find the the torque on the casing to engine bolts
5) Does the center plate (Has like 6 holes) mount to the engine?
6) If so what holds that plate to the transmission?
7) Am I missing anything before I mount this to the engine?
8) What is the torque on the front motor mount?
9) How are the rods on the sides utilized for the engine (how do they go together what is the torque)
I will attach a picture in just a minute showing the transmission thank you for the helpLast edited by tegguy; 12-15-2011 at 04:55 PM.
