71 Chevy Truck Interior
I bought a 1971 Chevy C10 for my son when he graduated from high school (2005). It was in great shape (body) and ran well with a 350/350 drive train. He used it to haul his dirt bikes around and after while, it became the family hauler. It stays at our place as we have room and he drives a little Escort ZX2 (30MPG versus 13MGP - easy math problem).
The interior was cheesy when we bought it and I told him "we'd take care of it someday." He's a great kid at 24 - still going to college, working his behind off at two jobs, pays his own way, lives in an apartment with his sister and makes a lot of good decisions.
After reading through Dave's incredible journey with his grand daughters, I got to thinking how blessed I am with my kids and decided that "someday" should be real soon. I think some of us "old guys" have an easier time showing our sons we love them by doing something for them rather than just telling them and this last weekend, I attempted my first ever interior makeover.
Parts are from Classic Industries and for the most part, I'm happy with the outcome. After getting started, I discovered that the seat was not original so a bit of modification was in order - but the "before" and "after" pictures speak for themselves.

Wow! Nice job, Glenn! The seat covers fit great, and the door panels are sweet! Hope your son liked it, too.

Really first rate looking interior Glenn!!!!! Somebody is gonna be downright giggly when they see it!!!!! Door panels look like they would be from a "Cheyenne" package????
