What's a "Belair" hood?
All 55 Chevy hoods are the same. Cars, wagons, Nomads.
I see metalworking in your future- or find another hood.
yes .. what do you mean ?
You mean the skin has some oil canning on it or???
It has some oil canning effect.I talked to a guy who has a 56 Chevy and his is the same way.I went to Danchuks website and they have some hood braces that I might try.
Hood braces won't fix anything if the skin is oil canned!!! Going to take some shrinking to make the skin tight again! Hood for my '57 is the same way, couple big oil cans, one big high spot where something hit it from the inside. One of the oil can spots went out EZ with a shrinking hammer, other one took some heat to shrink back as did the high spot. No big deal, nice and tight now just takes time and patience!
CARS repops the 55 hood & fits very nice.
Price is very fair- I've seen used hoods fetch $300.00
