I got 18 years out of the last one & it was getting tired.
It's a 2011 1/2 4wd. (something that came in very handy last night in the snow). First thing I did was wrap it.

Did a perforated window print of the "Z" . A little photoshopping and it's magically road worthy. :D

I wanted side mount toolboxes but I couldn't find what I wanted. So, like any hot rodder would do, I bought something close and chopped them up. :LOL:

Fabbed up some deep wells to give the boxes a little more storage space. Added a couple cargo rails on the back sides so I have all kinds of anchor points now to haul "stuff".

Got this idea from a fire truck I recently lettered. I added LED rope lights with magnetic switches. No more fumbling in the dark.

It's a 6.6' box. I don't use an 8' box as much as I used to, but for those times I still need 8' I installed a bed expander. I thought about building one, but for the price I couldn't buy the aluminum and spend the time.

Jeff got about 4 miles from home last night coming home from work. I went after him, came up on a cop in the ditch @ about 1.5 miles. He said the snowplows were picking people up, so I decided to head for home. I picked up about 8 people on the way back (2 were a father & 10 yr. old). Got back to town & headed back out to get another guy I didn't have room for on the first trip. Then went home. That would NOT have been possible with the old truck. I did get stuck once but wass able to rock myself out. About 1/2 hour after I got home a snowplow dropped Jeff off.

I know what you mean about the 8' thing. We needed the 4 door convenience, but I also wanted the ability for those occasions when 8' hauling is called for. That's why I ended up with the Avalanche. I really wanted to reward Ford for their independence, but they don't have anything to compare.

Very nice truck! Looks great with the wrap as well. I am surprised they do not have deep well side boxes that wrap around the wheel well.
