SBF in '35 Ford Chassis

Hi,

I'm new to the forum and realize that this question may have been answered before, but I have not been able to find a thread with the info I need. To install a 289 into a '35 Ford chassis with a MII crossmember, I know that I need a rear sump oil pan. Summit Racing helped me find a stock oil pan used on a '90 Bronco 5.0 (and other applications) with a rear sump. It is not a double hump like the Fox body 5.0 cars used. Is this the best choice for my application or are there other choices? Also, can anyone confirm for sure that a pan from a 5.0 will fit a 289 (with the correct pick up of course).

I know that early Bronco's ('66 - '67) had a rear sump pan on 289/302's, but those are either hard to find or very pricey. Thanks in advance for the help.

Looks like you are new - so welcome to CHR. One condition though, we like pictures of your project(s):LOL::LOL:

That pan will work just fine - tho most Mll cross members will give you room for a double hump pan if that's what you have.

This is a rear steer TCI Mll chassis with a front sump 302 - I had lots of room for a double, tho I do not like their look:

Welcome to the club! I have a 34 with M2, rear steer like IC2. I just used a stock plain jane pan, nothing special. If the cross member isn't under the motor, don't have a need for a "special" pan & pickup.:toocool:
