My car was soda blasted, cleaned and epoxy primed. I set my windshield with the old sticky seal in (years later) and when I went to take it back out it was a little stuck and I ended up ripping off the primer down to bare metal :eek: It doesn't make me feel very comfortable for when I spend thousands on a final paint job :HMMM:Quote:

35 coupe , you have just witnessed the reaction between epoxy and acid . the layer of epoxy next to the metal will not cure. which in turn causes less adhesion and sometimes bubbles. this is the very reason i did not invest in a soda setup instead of the rig i have. this isn't my opinion it is the facts. i spent a year researching before investing. i found acrylic will do the same job as soda , leave no residue , and i can recycle the media.
Most of the good operators down here use garnet,,a lot cleaner,does not rust,can be re used. I use it myself in little jobs on my own cars.I have seen the problems with soda blasting,as it seems to leach out of seams and joints for some time,and have known a few people who have had to strip their cars again a year or two down the track,as they have had problems with the paint job..Dont think I would go there..I still use the old fashioned paint stripper method..
