Hi Davee---what you see in the picture is an 8" rearend, with the pumpkin centered (some come with offset pumpkin and unequal length axles---measure before you buy)----I can't remember what that rearend is out of, but I used model A rear fenders (all years of model A were the same width, and I had to widen the rear fenders 2" on each side of the 27 roadster. The perfect axle for your car would be from under an old Maverick or 64/67 Mustang .
But----something you should be aware of---gear sets in different ratios are almost impossible to get for an 8" rearend. If you don't like the ratio after your car is built, you are stuck with what you got. The ballsiest gear ratio available is 3.55:1 There are far
more gear sets available for 9" ford rearends. I built a 1931 desoto using a stock Mustang 8" rearend with no widening, etcetera. That coupe was about the same width as a Model A. Mavericks, Mustangs, and Cougars are all about 52 1/2" out to out of mounting flanges on the rearend axle housings---not the whl mounting surfaces---I don't have that info recorded.Old guy hot rodder
