alternator wiring?

I got a 94 caprice with an LT1 in it, its my 56 Dodge truck project... well I can figure out how to wire up the alt.. Theres two wires that come out of pig tail (from the alt), ones labeled F and the other is L... Please Help...Heres a link to what alt I have http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/web...S_539119408___

The wires coming from my harness a wire labled alt power (red), and wire labled alt excitor (white)...

Wish I could help, I run a one wire on my Alt. I'm sure someone will
come along later and can tell you, but if not call a Chevy dealer and
see what they say..Sorry I cannot be of further help.

From what I have read you to only hook up those 2 wires(F & L) to the alternator.

Are you not using the harness from the LT1? I just plugged mine in :HMMM: As far as where those wires go I really have no idea :LOL: Maybe you could still return the alternator for a one wire?

No Im not using the caprice harness. I was going to, but it was a police car and had enough extra wire to wire up a few 747's...lol... I kept the harnesses for plugs and what nots...

One wire alternators are okay for a car with few accessories. But they don't work well if you have things like, heat, air, electric fan, electric fuel pump, etc. I had to convert my one-wire 110 amp alternator back to a three-wire hookup to support my car's electrical needs. Read the link below:
