Accessory Switch/Relay Question
My EZ Wire kit included a dash mount GM type keyed start switch, with the normal BAT-IGN-ACC-START lug connections. The wiring harness has a good sized (No 10?) ACC Power wire from the switch to the fuse block. I am seeing that if I use some other type of switch arrangement the ACC function needs to switch a relay. Is my understanding correct that the GM type starter switch has switching capability that will handle the high amp load of the accessories, so no relay is required; but if the accessories are switched independent from the starter switch the relay is necessary so that the on-off switch does not have to be so bulky (60 to 80 amp capacity)?
