Hey guys do any of you have any preference to a type of sound insulation? I was thinking of going with lizard skin spray on. They make it sound pretty good on their site.
And do any of you know anything about the paint lines Xtreme or Trinity paint? It sure is a lot cheaper then anything you can buy in a paint store around here but I don't want to buy something that is going to go to pot in a year or two.
I think Dynamat is generally considered to be about as good as it gets. Some people buy a similar insulation from Home Depot (lots cheaper) but I have heard it holds moisture and causes rusting. As for the paint brands, never have heard of either, but if the car is something you want to keep for a long time a name brand paint and all of their related products is the best way to go IMO.

Paints - I like Southern Polyurethane's sandable epoxy primers, Evercoat Rage fillers and putty, DuPont base and Southern's Universal clear (see my avatar car above and elsewhere on this site). PPG has some problems with their epoxies (washes off with lacquer thinners). DuPont epoxies dry as hard as a rock, but they are good if you don't have to do any body work filler work on top of them and can BC within 24 hours. DuPont, PPG, Kirker, R-M, Sherwin Willims, Ditzler, Martin Senour(NAPA) all have good to excellent base and clear coats.
Cheap paints - that's what they are tho they may just be a major's second or third lines.
Southern (SPI) is relatively inexpensive as there is very little advertising though they don't have a multitude of colors. One nice thing, customer service. You have a problem and call - you talk to the owner or you join their forum and discuss.
Thanks for the info guys. I appreciate it. I don't know if I should post this in another thread but I will try here first. Any ideas on what to coat the inside of the fenders with to prevent rock dings? I have heard bed liner spray works pretty good is that true?
I like the Lizard Skin Ceramic on the floor above where the exhaust is routed, dynamatt on the inside, and for a kruizer I use plan old roll on bed liner in the wheel wells..... cheap, easy to fix, and beats the heck out of stone stars on fat fendered cars!!!!!
PS, I strip, sand, and prime the inside of the fenders first just like I was going to paint them!!!! For a trailered car, I sure do like the inside of the fenders with shiny paint on them!!!!
Dave do you mind if I ask why you don't just use Lizard skin on the areas where you use dynamatt? Where do you get the roll on bed liner and how do you apply it?
